The Process
I’ll work with you to develop a planting design encompassing your favourite styles and colour schemes. From cottage gardens to contemporary spaces, wildlife havens to edible gardens, I’ll carefully consider how you want to use your garden, your budget and how much time you have to maintain it.
1. Consultation
The first stage is for me to come and visit your garden and talk about the space you would like me to create for you. We’ll discuss your favourite styles and most importantly how you want to use the garden. During this initial meeting I’ll get a complete picture of your garden to assess sun levels, areas of shade, soil type and condition as these are all important for deciding what plants to put where to get your garden looking at its best. I’ll then send you a quote for designing the planting scheme and an estimate for the plants.
2. Designing and sourcing
Once you have told me what you are looking for, I’ll get busy creating a planting design for you. These drawings will include a list of plants and quantities needed to develop the space in your chosen style. I’ll share this with you to give you the opportunity to make any changes you like. Following your final sign off, I’ll contact my network of local trusted plant nurseries to source the plants for your design.
3. Planting
On a date convenient to you, I’ll arrange for the plants to be delivered to your garden. I will then prepare the ground and get planting! I’ll bring all the tools I need so you don’t need to lift a finger. Alternatively, if you would rather, I can source the plants for you and you can get your hands dirty and put them in yourself.
4. Maintenance plans and ongoing support
All my planting designs come with detailed plant descriptions and maintenance guides personalised for your garden, so you can care for your garden as the plants start to grow. Additionally, I offer a maintenance service and can come and help you take care of the plants as required. This is charged on an hourly basis and can be weekly, monthly or quarterly depending on your needs.
